Hello,

I'd love to start playing MC again, but I'd like to use ultimate pack (tried using my own modpack in a past, but it's too much time consuming, every update of MC took me hours and hours to update...).

Is there any official statement on future (block and item ID) compatibility of dire20 or mindcrack with ultimate pack? So I could start playing with one of those packs and when ultimate is ready I'd just switch to it.

Please, answers only with verifiable sources (e.g. link to a thread with post from pack's dev).

Thank you.

There are compatibility issues with some mods (IDs) between DW20 and Mindcrack currently. Not sure how they'd make an ultimate that is universally compatible with both without some editing for at least one of them.

oh, that's not exatly the thing I wanted to hear :(. well, I'll have to wait for the ultimate. thank you for answer.

PS: any news about ultimate or its progress? news section looks dead, most ETAs expired. I hope the FTB packs aren't dead/dyingo_O.

No, they are not, the guys just have a life and work/study to care for, making the development on both the pack and the mods included rather low priotity. Of course, if you make an ETA, you should try to get ready on time, but hey, you never know what happens next...

I don't mind they didn't manage to get it done in ETA, but that they don't communicate. I didn't find any "offical" message regarding progress, just a few topics with a lot of people in dark. Or have I missed something?

nah we are in the dark atm, not even a clue as to a modlist that they are looking at or whether they are just waiting for 1.5 update at this point...

Well it is possible that you could have compatibility with one of the packs if they decided to reuse some of the already done configs from the old packs as a starting point for the ultimate pack, alternately if they did not do that assuming no major mod that would crash your world if removed was changed or removed you could replace the configs in the ultimate pack with your current ones (though any updates to the pack would mean having to replace the configs again) and then resolve any new ID conflicts.
