I can't seem to find anywhere about the flowers each type of bee needs. right now I have marsh bees and nothing I put around them will work. I'm very confused. XD

Any idea what kind of mushrooms are flagged as acceptable, such as the Extrabiomes mushrooms or the Twilight forest mushrooms?

You can't go wrong with the vanilla. I'd recommend using red and browns in a differential pattern.

I doubt the Twilight Forest ones and Extrabiome ones will work, since (and please correct me if I'm wrong) the mushrooms aren't in Forge's Ore Dictionary, so cross-mod mushrooms would be a bit of a headache.

I'm not sure. I've played with bees before and ExtraBiome flowers seemed to work with bees.

I'll look into it.

Actually, come to think of it - Apiaries propagate the flowers around them, including extrabiomes flowers, so do marshy bees make mushrooms propagate the same way? Mushrooms already multiply naturally, but the process might be faster with hives. If so, you could have a primitive mushroom farm.

Oh, I'm well aware that those ones work. I just want to know if the other kinds do. Logic says yes. But I don't play with bees much -- That's my girlfriend's forte and she's not here right now.
I'll ask when she gets back.

So Marshy bees also need sunlight, but mushrooms prefer darkness - so maybe you'd have the hive recessed in the ground, and have the ground underneath hollow. So

Code:
XXX_XXX
_^_H_^_

Where underscores are empty space, ^ is mushrooms, and X is dirt. H would be the hives. I am pretty sure that the extrabiome mushrooms are usable in soup, so a rapid-propagating mushroom farm in the swamp might be able to keep you fed on top of producing marshy bee goodness.

XL mushrooms are indeed used in soup combined with a bowl and 2 mushrooms of the same colour.

As long as the hive has direct access to the sky and the mushrooms have shade, it's fine. Just plant the apiary at the edge of tree cover and put the mushrooms under the leaves.

Umm, I would make a chart except I'm on an iDevice. I can tell you if you ask though.

What flower should I use for the energetic bee branch, it says redstone but that doesnt work. Also does rock just mean stone?

They need a redstone torch.
Also the beealyzer should be able to tell you everything you need to know.

Thanks, that seems obvious, why didn't I think of that. But the Beealyzer only tells you redstone, or rock, not what that means. Like when it tells me pollin. speed, that doesn't really mean anything to me.
