getting this error on random mods
tried reinstalling
tried setting "Java Settings Max Memory Allocation" and "Addon Settings Backup" to 8000 MB & 10MB

Download errors like that are due to your internet connectivity between you and the curse servers. Might possible be the curse servers as well since they might be a little overloaded with the recent release of DireWolf's 1.12 pack.
