Quick question:

Do mining turtles collect obsidian that they break?

And is the gem variants have the same rules?

It appears that I am not getting obsidian from my turtle.

Gem pickaxe turtles break obsidian without giving you any back. Diamond pickaxe turtles will give you obsidian.

Just a suggestion, if anybody has a very simple quick question like this, the "Ask a Simple Question, Get a Simple Answer" thread. It's great and people usually respond quickly.
