Hello.
I'm trying to cobble together a basic 'teleport' system for when I'm out exploring. I currently have an ender chest back at base with a filter on it, which has a timer activating every second, pumping out to a diamond chest.

That way I can carry an ender pouch with me, and if I find a lot of ores etc. I can stick them in the ender pouch, which will move it to the ender chest, which will in turn move it to the diamond chest.

The thing is, sometimes I like to put my good tools away if I feel like I might die. So what I would like to do is have the filter only start pumping out items from the ender chest when I want to, so I can put things in my ender pouch and they will sit there until I activate the filter. That way if I die 1000's of metres from my home, all I am losing is my ender pouch, but I can still access the stuff in the pouch if I don't die, without having to go all the way back to base.

So basically, I want a way to remotely activate the timer attached to the filter on the ender chest. I tried making a wireless remote, transmitter and receiver, but it didn't work. It activates, but only for a split second.

Use an emerald pipe in place of your wooden pipe, and set its filters to only pull out the ore's you want to clear out of the enderchest.

If you play SSP you can also increase your enderchest to its max size (wooden chest I think).

Use a second ender pouch maybe?

No "maybe" about it. You are going to need to take up two inventory slots with the suggested system (ender pouch and wireless redstone remote). Why not take up one inventory space with an ender pouch, which then contains your ender pouch to send stuff back to your base? It'd give you twenty-eight free spaces to use, which is a great deal of possible space to keep things safe. You also don't technically need to make another chest, as you can dye your first chest with another pattern, make a pouch, and then redye that chest (I believe, I have not tested this, but I cannot think of a reason why it would not work). This would be your best choice. Good luck!

wouldnt it be better to use a sorting machine on auto pull? that way it will only pulse if items are in the chest

or
cobblestone structure pipe joining timer to chest at the chest gate with if no items in inventory send red pipe wire signal and gate at timer red pipe wire signal send redstone signal that way it will only turn on timer if items in chest
