hello all.
this is a thread to showcase tunnel bores, i mean the frame powered ones, using whichever frame mod you want (or any mods, really.) feel free to showcase tunnel bores. im pretty sure im not breaking any rules by posting this, forum rules. so anyway, heres my tunnel bore:
it uses AE 2 annihilation planes for the block breaking, and remain in motion for the frames. i use a template frame, so i can set up what blocks i want moved, relative to whichever frame block i right click on with a screwdriver. really neat, i also use project red and WR-CBE for the wiring. i use chisel for the cool looking blocks, IC2 for the ore proccesing, and power generation. whats neat is that the AE2 system is powered by an RTG, where as the macerator and electrical furnace are powered by a IC2 single block nuclear reactor. id use another mod, but only IC2 has the 1 block reactor, although i couldve used power converters for a compact EU to RF conversion, but i thought, if im using IC2 power gen, why not use IC2 machines? because of how its set up, it will automatically process ores, using the power from the nuclear reactor. recently, i did some editing, (im in creative mode btw) and added in a wireless terminal capability into it, i also got rid of the rtg and had both the AE system and the machines powered by the nuclear reactor. with the 16 wireless boosters, i can get up to 90 meters range with the wireless terminal, allowing you to access it from the surface, and with a botania beacon, you can find it easily, even if it is underground.. i also have it so, instead of always moving, it has a 10 second period where the machines can process 2 ore blocks per 10 seconds of rest period, before the bore moves again and mines more. if i had it always moving, it would never have any time to process the ores ( the machines process times are lost during moving of the frames, so if they're half way to finishing what they are doing, they start again if the frame moves.) maybe you can post your frame-based tunnel boring devices too? share all designs here so we can take inspiration, etc. .some notes:

- 3x3 is the most common tunnel bore design, or atleast, its what i prefer. although a 2x2, or even 1x1 tunnel bore is possible (ive done it before).
- heres how i have the nuclear reactor set up: http://prntscr.com/8493ea
- a wireless redstone remote toggles on/off the moving of the tunnel bore.
- the macerator will automatically process iron, silver, copper, tin, lead, nickel, platinum, zinc, and gold.
- although the remain in motion config i have is set to not consume power, with the power converters mod, i could just place an EU consumer and producer, along with an RF producer, instead of a part of the fiber glass cable, and it should work perfectly fine, even though it requires adding 1 more mod required to build it, though. but i already have power converters installed, in my modpack im using.
- i havent water-proofed it. i think that, if water got to the top of it, it would break the lever, along with maybe some other things, which wouldnt be good. although, i do have forge microblocks, i could probably place some of the super-tiny corner pieces around, and it should stop any water, without impeding movement.
- the entire tunnel bore is 3x3x9 blocks, 3 blocks tall, 3 blocks wide, and 9 long.
- it is also possible to turn off the tunnel bore by manually switching the toggle latch.
