Hello,

I have setup my tunnel bore with frames and it's all working perfectly fine.
However I cannot pump the items(mostly cobblestone) out of my enderchest fast enough. I know I could use filters(not sure if thats fast enough) but then I cant use my diamond pipes for sorting out my cobble into my void pipe. Is there anyway of making the wooden pipe pump faster? Currently I use 2 electrical engines(upgraded) and it's going pretty fast but still not fast enough. I guess I can use more engines but isnt there a more elegant way of solving this problem?

Thanks,
PSlaaplucht

You can use an RP2 sorter which is capable of pulling out stacks at a time, for the voiding, you can do that either before it its the enderchest (which also has the benefit of not clogging up the enderchest as quickly) or, with RPs, if you setup a filter with the output next to a lava source block it will automatically void it for you.

Thanks very much! However about the voiding its not really possible to do it before it goes into the enderchest because those are pneumatic tubes as well(onboard the tunnel bore). And isn't the lava-way gonna cause lag?

just void it when you get it to your base. have the output of cobble go to a filter that sends it into whatever voiding method you choose

^^^That's a good way to go in some respects, but it doesn't really solve his problem of not being able to pull from the ender chest fast enough.

I'm not sure why the lava way would case lag. But admittedly I don't know a whole lot about the background mechanics of the game.
I'm also curious to hear for sure if you can move a lava source block around on frames. I've never tried it myself.
Regardless, if you decide to give this a shot I'd love to hear how well it all works out.

Two ideas:
1) I remember that autarchic gates had been beefed up to pulse much quicker. Could that maybe up the speed compared to the elec engines? It would take up far less space.
2) If you have the space available at your output enderchest, could you attach and power a second wooden pipe to share the job?

Autarchic gates are indeed much quicker now (or I think it would be more accurate to say that they just no longer have a warm-up time...) but I doubt that one would keep up with a respectably large tunnel bore.

HOWEVER, I'm reminded by Bahmor's post that wooden pipes can take a very large amount of MJ and successfully use it to pump out huge amounts of items. A redstone energy cell, for instance, will power a wooden pipe at an insane rate. The trick, of course, is making sure you have a reliable way to keep supplying however much power you're using nonstop.

This is definitely a solution(I tried it in SP). The big downside is you will need a constant input of 100MJ to keep your battery loaded. I think im gonna try with the RP2 sorting machine and either make a quantum chest or the lava void thing.

100 MJ for energy cell is definitely overkill, 64 is maximum that it will use (one stack per tick). I'd use smaller setting, depending on how much items do you need to extract, or just set 64 MJ/t and add gate with "inventory empty" -> "redstone signal" on wooden pipe to control energy cell.

6 AE import buses set to pull stacks on an ender chest will keep it emptied of at least 2 full speed BC quarries, input from 3 arboretums, and a few other machines feeding things into the system. In fact, I'm getting the impression 6 is probably way overkill for most things.

why not use a tesseract instead of a enderchest? Bore-head -> Tesseract -> diamond pipe->Voidpipe/diamond chest
Ofcourse, not sure if item tesseracts work with the frames, energy one's do atleast.

If you have an AE storage network, plonk down an interface next to the tesseract and it can handle 4 fullspeed quarries atleast.

I think multiple wooden pipes and multiple energy cells is the solution, everything else seems to slow, cause the bore is getting 256 items per second and im even thinking about making a second one.

No need for multiple wooden pipes or energy cells. Just turn up the power of the single energy cell. Assuming Zjarek's numbers are right (they make sense to me) setting the output to 65 MJ/t (the maximum that the pipe will accept) will pull about 1280 items per second.

Now, that's a lot of power. But if you're set on the energy cell route, that's inevitable.
