Hey there. I have been seeing myself at completely incapable of building anything but a cobble box of the 9x9 variant.

I have now set out on a journey to try making my upcomming base, a little more interesting.
Take a look, and see what ya thinks (I am not expecting standing applause, i just wish to share my small project, since i am pretty happy to try some more pleasing looking base building)

First floor of the underground base, the main shaft in the middle goes to bedrock, and more levels will come

Try introducing some patterns using other types of stone along corners and floor divisions. Really enhances the geometry. Cool build.

Wow thanks alot :)
@kaovalin I will try that tonight. Though my ability to find blocks that go well together aint that good, thank god for the chisel mod, and all the variations it gives (The base is mostly made of cobblestone variations :p

I like it a lot. Just nitpicking here but I think the wooden roof of the tower should be a block or two wider per side at the bottom (of the roof).

Nitpick all you want, i like getting someadvice ;) regarding the roof, that's one of the things that I'm not too happy with. Will try lowering it a bit. And might change the stairs to a different color wood later

For the roof: Try some wooden slabs mixed with stairs, and make it a bit rounder ;)

In square rooms, break up the floor with diagonal lines. If you make say 7x7 diagonal patterns in the floor, using basic stone brick, instead of chisel versions. That's enough contrast, without overpowering the rest of the room. Perhaps a chiseled stone brick in the middle of each diamond.

Nice suggestion. Will try it out and post some pictures when I have some more progress

Got a good guide on achieving that?
I'm not good with such kind of roofs.. but here something

This is using vanilla stairs, slabs and some full wood blocks. If you use microblocks you can make it way more detailed.
