recently opened my direwolf20 singleplayer world after updating only to discover all of the aspects I had scanned disappeared from my research table. However when I tried to go scan those items over again it would not allow me to. Help in getting my aspects back or resetting so I'm not stuck?

This usually happens when your player.dat gets corrupted. The only way I know to "fix" this problem is to use some sort of NBT editing tool on your player.dat and edit your aspects back in.
