Trouble Hosting server for friend

I am running a Hamachi based server on my pc for me and one of my friends to play Feed The Beast I am using V1.04 of the launcher. The problem I am currently having is that the server does not show as running for my friends to connect I however can connect to the server just fine. What is really confusing me is that I have run a Vanilla server before with no problems using the same setup and my friend was able to join and play. Any ideas on what my issue could be?

you could be giving him the wrong ip go to whatsmyip.com to find it out

I dont think that is the problem as the ip I gave himself is the same I used with my vanilla server and he can connect to that.

So if i get this right.
You can connect to your server that runs local.
Your friend Cannot connect to your server.
But your friend could connect to your vanilla server.

Now i suggest looking at. What port is the FTB server on. also is there a firewall that might block any outside connections on both sides.

The port is the same for both servers, 25565. Would a firewall block one server but not another? Because at the moment he can still connect to the vanilla server.

Are you running both servers at the same time with the same port?

No i am not i only run one server at a time.

Okay I solved it and boy do i feel stupid I did not use the IPV4 address when i portforewarded. Thank you for all the help
