I set up a Steve's Cart farm just like in Direwolf20's Season 5. Everything seemed ok. I tried placing Xychorium Soil where the trees were being planted, but the cart won't plant on XySoil. So I put 6 Lilypads of Fertility down the middle of the tree farm. Now, sometimes when a tree grows, the bottom block of the tree doesn't appear. I think the sapling breaks and grows at the same time, because I have a lot of saplings lying around. Any ideas?

I'm trying it now with just one Lilypad...
...still happening. Oh well, I've got it set up to refill the Fertilizer slot now so that will have to do.

Its just aesthetic, right? My steves cart farms produce more wood than I know what to do with. If periodically one block were missing from a tree I doubt I would even notice at this point. After awhile you'll be at the same point.

The problem here (I think anyway) is that the cart will plant a sapling under the tree missing the bottom log, and not harvest it. So eventually you get a bunch of trees with the bottom log replaced by a sapling, and a cart running around a track pointlessly burning fuel. Someone correct me if I'm way off base here, but that's the impression I'm getting.

How would this be a problem, they would just break the remaining wood. If not, try deleting and re-installing SC2.

the cart looks horizontally, if it finds wood, then checks upwards for the rest of the tree. If horizontally is only a sapling, no check will be made, since there is no tree above a sapling (why should it be there?), thus resulting in that permanent tree-above-sapling problem.

Yep. That's what I was seeing.
