Tinkers Construct - Having trouble making stuff!

So check out this screenshot. I've been reading a bunch and watching a few videos on how to do these things, but for whatever reason I can't seem to get the parts to combine into anything in either the tool forge, or the tool station.

I've played around using flint, iron, and even slime parts but nothing seems to want to work. Any ideas?

You need to upgrade that tool station to a tool forge I think.

Not for a pickaxe. And he said he has tried a tool forge.

No worries, at this point I am looking for even the most farfetched fixes.. like turning on the windshield wipers and honking the horn twice to get the engine to start!

Try banging on the tool forge. Or put some duct tape on it.

I know you've tried a few different materials, but spend some cobble on making another tool to see if that works.

or to really test,

gather new materials, make everything from scratch again and test...see if it does it with the newly created parts and a tool station...just to rule out a weird bug with those original items?

Do you by any chance have Iguana Tweaks?

You are using a tough tool rod instead or a normal tool rod, which you need for the pickaxe. I guess OCD makes it easier to see.

yea, that bit is annoying, the outline for each is the same.

I find I like TC a lot. near infinite customization.

two picks, an excavator, and lumber axe so far.
pick one: iron/stone/stone. diamond, redstone, lapis. everyday pick until I get a silky gem.
pick two: alumnite/stone/netherrack. for the nether ores.
excavator and lumber axe are both all stone.

waiting till I get better armor and a jetpack for going too far into the nether.
