Howdy!

Right, I am trying to make my own custom pickaxe. I am finding it impossible, I want to make it out of cobalt but I just don't know how to make the cast for cobalt. When I place cobalt in the Smeltery Controller it just makes a liquid and wont pour out of the drain. Can some one please take me through step by step on making the cast for the pickaxe. Please be a detailed as possible I would very appreciate it.

Many thanks

Which version of Tinker's Construct are you running? In the most recent version, you must Put a stone or wood pickaxe head, or a wooden pickaxe head stencil, into the casting table. Then pour molten Aluminum Brass (3 Aluminum and 1 Copper) or Gold over it. This will create the matching cast.

You can also make blank casts by pouring aluminum brass or gold into an empty casting table. In pre-0.7 versions of Tinker's Construct, these could be directly Stenciled into casts for any type at the Stencil Table. In >0.7 versions, however, this can only make an Ingot cast.

You cannot do this with a wooden stencil. You must use a wooden/stone/whatever part that you want a cast of and pour the brass over the part to make a brass cast.

Thank you! I couldn't get the metal casts either. (Was using the wooden stencil and tried to pour the metal over it. Same way as it worked in the 152wgt pack.) Was using the actual tool part a change in the most recent update?

yeah the wood stencil was a stop gap it seems looks like he will stick with this way, now stone/cobble/flint part works well, then pour in the alu-brass to make a mold that you can pour any metals into, heads up on metal ingot making with tinkers, fastest way with less clicking I found was to cast 9 into a basin & break the block down to ingots after, saves click/wait/click 8 times :), so 9 ore = 2 blocks = 18 ingots, same but lot faster for early game ore doubling.
