I believe the later packs will be using a different Tin generation. Forestry Tin generation is not a problem on the Magic World pack as you aren't having to repeatedly craft batteries, but it seems like they'll be switching over to IC2 generation for the packs that include it... especially since it now has thorough config options for ore generation and thus can be adjusted to where they think the various combined tech trees need it.

I'm hoping the Magic World pack will be swapped over to the Thermal Expansion generation, mostly because I refer how its ores are distinct but the ingots and dust better blend into the vanilla style, but also because it now has highly configurable generation as well.

Yeah TE is the bomb, no matter what you put through it the ores all smelt down into the same IDs. I'm in the process of destratisfying my warehouse and my processing room will only use TE machines to process... Pulverize bars, and re-smelt them into ingots with the side effect of a great deal of rockwool.

The problem is that IC2 tin generation is off by default, but most high-end items for that mod and all of its addons are balanced around having the level generated by IC2. The other mods that add silver don't add enough to compensate.

First thing I did when I realized IC2 copper/tin was off was fix that. Whatever mod that tin/copper belongs to must not use nearly as much.

I think we will see either TE or IC2-Generation in the future.

First both Mods macerate/pulverize the Ores into their specific ingots, which actually is a bonus for IC2 since you can get IC2-Dusts via GregTech even without the ores. And second both will have config-options for Ore-Density.

Mystcraft ages are pretty wonky with ore gen, you could always try one of those if you are in serious need. They spawn all the different types in from all mods terrain gen.

I can't wait to set up that tin factory Etho is doing, and I don't even need massive amounts of tin yet :p .

Etho's Setup seems like a power hungry beast, especially if he is gonna upgrade the Electrical Engines, but his creations are always interesting to watch being made.

I Didnt see Etho's factory yet....Heres how to maximimise tin however.
Firstly get some. I know its difficult if you search my posts you will find tips on mining. Then make cells. Then get a nether portal and put a mining turtle in there with the command "excavate 5". The mining turtle will return to you when its full. Collect all the nether wrack (or rack i keep forgetting how to spell it). Then you need to make magma crucibles and Liquid transposers. Put them next to each other so the magma crucible feeds the Liquid transposer. Add your tin cells into the liquid transposer and throw the netherwrack in the lava crucibles. You will get lava cells. Next you need to build an Industrial centrifuge (or centifuges)....You take the lava cells, put them in the Centrifuge and wait (A pretty long time)...bingo you get 40 tin...the cells took only 32 tin to make. Im guessing Etho's factory does this?
You generate 8 extra tin per process.
Ok it is power hungry but if you got the resources you can build a reactor....If you build a safe MK I reactor there is no reason to put it in a re-enforced stone building...A MK I reactor will never blow up. I have a three chamber one just outside my house and it powers everything. You could use any power source you have but I find the reactor is the best at low levels....Many higher gamers than me use solar power....This is good but You can build a reactor without finding some of the ores you need for efficient solar power! You are ofcourse gonna need an MFSU and transformers. Use rubbies to make power crystals...I find them easier to find than diamonds and they have less uses.

Tip: If you search these forums there is a tool for building safe reactors....Its called IC reactor planner....If you search the IC forums there are safe reactor designs.

If you do all of the above in multiple you will have tin flowing from your backside like poop:). The whole process can be automated by macerating and smelting tin automatically...feed the tin into an auto crafting source to make cells. Feed the cells into the liquid transposer. Feed the magma cells into a centrifuge. Since this is a slow process you can use redstone engines to do the feeding.

Indeed, that is what he is doing, i think it was 8 Centrifuges he was setting up and using Electrical Engines to power the Magma Crucibles. Plus he was planning to upgrade the Electrical Engines so that will suck even more EU power.

Please for your own sake, don't use the setup Etho is using. Etho is still very much a newbie to all of these mods, and his setup is very inefficient. By all means, go for the same goal, but pay more attention than he does to how the mods behave. For instance, don't run Copper Cable for more than four blocks. You also should try to arrange the pipe for even distribution rather than a sloppy line. I suspect many of his cells are going to wind up scattered about and very slowly accumulating in the later ones, taking ages to build up the necessary full stack. At the very least, he should be focusing on a single centrifuge for now and slowly building his way up as he has enough tin production to handle multiple stacks.

I have no intention of copying Etho, i enjoy seeing his creations, besides I have never had a shortage of Tin besides at the very beginning. I would much rather come up with my own ideas.

A few topics down someone posted a nice build using Railcraft loaders. It is completely automated but requires some power outside of itself and is otherwise a self sufficient system supplying itself with its own and correct number of cells. I'm not home to test it myself but I plan to when I can.
