Really? TE Aqueous Accumulator can make infinite water. Just make a 3x3x1 water pool and put the machine in there.

Then pump it into a small railcraft tank and use a bucket on the tank valve. You'll get a bucket of water.

You could program a Turtle to do all the filling for you. Just add coal/lava.
Redpower pumps and grates would be much better, fluid pipes can connect to aqueous accumulators. Will fill anything in no time.

I like the void age spaceship idea. Hull can only consist of iron blocks & hard glass.. I may start something like this myself![DOUBLEPOST=1358623327][/DOUBLEPOST]

Don't need a 3x3, just one block of water on each side. Drop a glass tank on top and you can fill your bucket that way.

As someone that has use redpower to empty a large area (64x64x8) I can tell you it still takes a good amount of time. Like 2 days. using two pumps. So I'm sure filling it would be vary similar. Not impossible just a bit time consuming.

I voted tree. I made a treetop base on an old slightly modded world (SimpleOres, Netherrocks, Extended Workbench, Mine & Blade: Battlegear, and a few others,) and it was awesome.

Only problem is you'll have to add some heavy machinery.

Tree tops are cool I've done that before in vanilla it was intersting. The key to making it intresting it trying to keep it blended in with the trees.

I didn't keep it blended in with the trees at all, I just used a bunch of wooden planks and their byproducts to make a house. It looked quite decent! Since it's on another computer that now barely works, I can't post pics right now.

So looks like Sky and Sea are clearly the more popular ones. So I might just combine the two.

Make a landing base on the sea with docks and portals. Then run an elevator up to the main sky base and down to a sea floor mineing base.

Yeah I think that would be way cool.

Create a giant whirlpool in the middle of the ocean with MFFS, build a laputa/floating atlantis above the maelstorm, make the bottom part a cone, the tip of which is nearly touching the ground in the middle of the whirlpool. Build a spiral railtrack around the cone for moving up and down via traincrafts high-speed trains. Litter the rest of the cone with mixed crystal clusters, quartz crystals and nitors.

Or go the mojang challenge way and combine the most successful with the least, and build a protos mothership above a wasteland. Use copper blocks and tinted glass / rp lamps.

Mystcraft could make really good pylons...

Damn, now I have that in my head, while not even having a proper base yet.

True, but a whole lot faster than using turtles to place water buckets one by one.

My two most recent worlds I have done Treehouses. They're fast becoming my favorite type of base. The logistics of piping around them and wiring them for electricity without making it look too unnatural can be a challenge, but it's a fun one. On one world, my Treehouse is built in a Redwood/Fir forest, and the other one, it's built in the top of a legend oak. Both require different designs, but are very fun to build.

Dig down with hazmat suit to protect agianst lava, go down to lava level, and dig out rooms for your new home. As long as Notch doesn't add any jazzy worms to the game, you should be good and safe to build down there. Also, add some sort of automatic defense system with dispensers to protect agianst bat attacks in your house.
You can be the underground city. Just ignore the fact that piping will be annoying and painful. And also that you probably can't use solar energy.

Good luck making it move. Or spin. Or fire lasers.
Actually, you could make the whole thing out of frames with covers attached and then put some MFFS stuff attached to a frame that gets pushed out the bottom of the ship so it surrounds a huge area under the ship in a big dome, and then you can go and light that area up to build a farm and a house untill you feel like moving.

Um yeah not going to make to make it move or anything. More like a static base. Also might go with an inspired by sort of build. having played with hexagons 6 sided objects are a pain to make them look good so I might just go with 8 sided setup. basicly a circle/dome with 4 of them hooked wing things instead of 3. I've not played with MFFS at all so thats out of the question at the moment.

Etho manages to make his exagons look quite good, but it needs to be big enough to work.

Yeah and hexagons are fairly easy to to make look good. But what I worry about is the 3 arms. The straight one will look great but the two angeled ones which will not be 45 degrees will come out looking odd. So I might just fugde it a bit and go with 4 arms. instead of 3.

My two cents:

Desert, especially if you can find one of those desert temples as the initial start.

In the Desert, you've got Oil spawns, lots of Cactus, and the Austere line of bees. I happen to like the Austere line because they are Nocturnal, meaning they will operate even at night. Since it doesn't actually rain in the Desert, 'strong flyer' is implied as well, if not explicitly stated. This means they will produce combs 24/7 with no stoppages in supply, and as a result they actually end up producing more combs than you might otherwise think from their stats. Of course, breeding them with more productivity would be an enjoyable pastime.

Solar panels would also be slightly more efficient, due to lack of rain, and IC2 wind generators would be more stable because you won't have to accommodate for the sudden influx of power which storms provide which can break them if not properly prepared. Also, if you are running with Thaumcraft3 installed, cinderpearl flowers are an excellent source of blaze powder without needing access to the Nether.

And hey, you'd even have a theme song...

"I been through the desert on a pig with no name, it felt good to get out of the rain..."

If you find one with Red Hills nearby, that would be even better, as Red Cobblestone can be turned into Clay.

So... I went looking....

I am starting to think my world is 99% ocean biome.
