Hoping I can describe this well enough where is becomes simple to understand. Going to be long though.
I have an apparent lag that seems to have just popped up during gameplay and I'm not sure the trigger. My next step is to start turning mods on and off, but that can be very dangerous when I try and have a good reload into my game world after this is fixed. So I would rather avoid that if possible.
So here it goes. Apparently every 1/3 of a second my game video freezes, not the F3 screen as I can see, but it's freezes for 1/10th of a second so maybe I don't notice, but it sure is noticeable when trying to turn or jump.
I can time this by picking an item up with the cursor and move it in a circle so that it syncs. IE whenever the item icon freezes for a micro second I can make the circle so the item noticeably stops in the same place...and get 3 times a second.
Anyway...it only happens in DW20, and I assume its an interface mod doing it since I can start an default superflat world in peaceful and still get the effect.
When it started - I think when I had recently found a builders wand, went home and clicked on some dirt. It lagged for just a second when building the dirt "cube" but I thought nothing of it. It was raining, I had just made a long trip home in the dark with a large zombie trail (damn ridiculous trails now) so for a few seconds I assumed there might be a lot of "thinking" going on.
But it got very annoying so I started fiddling with settings...all of them as far as I can tell. Key bindings NEI settings, all video / sound / multiplayer menus. Restarted and changed the memory larger and smaller. Nothing made any difference in the 1/3 second spikes...hesitate to call them that since I started with "lag spikes" when I had 1gig memory and the game would dump at 95% and lag freezing the entire game.
These "spikes" don't freeze the game though, just the visuals like a FPS lag (even the f3 menu seems uneffected), but there is no registered FPS drop. And it doesn't matter what map I use, restarting the game and even the computer...no change. So I don't see how a mod item could initiate a problem that would cross worlds.
And tried watching the F3 menu to see if there is any correlation, but nothing is on beat with the 1/3s and in a superflat world the only thing that changes is the memory usage which updates faster than that. It "feels" like complicated redstone device lag...but again, superflat world makes no difference.
