Hiya guys. I'm currently working on my first custom modpack (ever), so please have mercy. This morning, I resolved my first (of hopefully not too many) ID Mismatches and now that I've got my client running against my server locally, I tried to test it with others. When they attempt, they end up getting a ticking screen crash. One consideration is that I am on Linux (Ubuntu 13.04) and they are on Windows, but given this is Java, I had hoped it would not matter.

So, here are the links to crash logs, reports, and any other information you may possibly need. First is his crashlog:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/yzh6kmibbern1se/crash-2013-05-09_21.06.05-client.txt

Now, here is what I get when I do a full dump of client-side startup with same configurations:

Various other information:
Server is running MCPC+ and only gets the twilight bighorn error seen in above logs. Other than that, it starts up like a charm.

If you need more information, I can get more. Did I use incompatible versions of mods? IDConflicts I didnt' catch? Gah.

I'm just going to throw this out as an idea and ponder what others have to say about it, but I'm wondering if maybe "I'm building a custom modpack" doesn't imply that a forum for a launcher with mod packs of its own is no longer the place to be going for support help. As it stands, "I'm using the <FTB provided> pack and trying to add <non-FTB provided> mod but it's not working help" kinds of posts are already teetering on the outer fringes of relevant. It's just a thought, and one I'm sure will prompt over-defensive responses from some, but a thought nonetheless.

Can't say I know much about any of this, but given that YOU can connect, it sounds like an issue on your friend's side. Do they have the same mods installed into their client as you? Do they also have the same client config files as you?

The problem with that statement is that FTB is composed of Modpacks developed by other people, not always just Slowpoke. The FTB launcher is a collaboration of various people and mods to build modpacks that users may want. If it was not the place, the launcher itself would not have the option for custom modpacks. It is even setup so you can address a FTB admin if you want to publish a modpack, but you have to have that modpack troubleshooted firstly. And what I am doing currently, is trying to get my modpack together. Additionally, considering the stalling time of any 1.5.1 update, I've seen news of many switching out of Redpower and making custom modpacks since FTB has yet to provide them. I can't build off of a modpack that is not built for 1.5.1 or even 1.5.2 because it simply does not yet exist.

He has same mods and configs. I sent him the EXACT mods and coremods, in addition to the exact configs the server was using. If you look in my client startup, you can see that thaumcraft is doing something a bit insane and has an error log possibly even 1000 lines long. I was told Thaumatic Bees and Thaum need to match in versions and they do. Not sure why it is giving me grief (yet the mod runs fine afterward boot).

His client log shows the mods loading in a different order to that of the server. If I understand correctly, that's a bad thing.
