Things to do with extras?

Ok, so I have a forestry tree farm to power my boiler for MJ. All wood gets smelted into charcoal. I route enough saplings to keep it going, then store the saplings and apples. Just wondering, anything useful I could use these two products for?

you can use forestry to turn the apples into apple juice with the squeezer and then put the saplings and the apple juice with some forestry fertilizer in a fermenter and get biomass and then you can put that in a still to turn it into biofuel and burn it in a railcraft liquid based boiler to make steam for steam engines

Hmm so basically I can have this thing run two boilers? If I use the apple juice and saplings to make biomass and them biofuel, what's the biggest LP I could run? 3x3 36LP?

and remember a larger boiler is always more fuel efficient than a smaller one

Hmm, I might have my solid fuels boiler for MJs and my liquid fueled boiler for EU.

This is what I use my saplings and apples for. Just be aware that you won't get enough apples to keep the fermenter supplied with juice 100 percent of the time. Eventually you'll have to cut over to water.

that depends on how much apples your producing i used to run a 3x3 set of forestry tree farms and that gave me more than enough apples for one boiler but then again im insane in how much i like to overdimension my equipment

When I had this running, I skipped out on the extra boiler, and set up a still next to the fermenter. Produced about 1k of biofuel, which gave me enough to start playing around with the IC2 armour (the gravi-suit and similar, I know it's not strictly IC2, but it's close enough).

I find that, when you have a glut of BC energy, you're better off making something storable and interchangable (I can use the biofuel in bio-generators or combustion engines, as I see fit).
