Hello,

I use Hardened Energy Cell well charged to supply my mining well.
But when the mining well finish to work (meet bedrock) RF already continue to be used by Energy Cell.

Is it normal ?
Is there a solution to stop my cell to deliver RF with no use ?

Thanks a lot.

That is normal. You need to use a Buildcraft Gate to activate a redstone signal. I don't know if the setting for work to be done will work, but if you set a gate on the pipe and set it to activate a redstone signal when there are no items in pipe, you could have that signal switch the redstone setting on the energy cell.

Ok thank you but does it work with itemducts ? And if no item is on the pipe it could be because there is a hole (cavern case).
Furthermore, my pipe is just 1 pipe long and it's a pity if i have to length it.

Is it the same thing with other energy items like combustion engine ?

Someone tell me there is gates to detect if a quarry is finished but he's not sure which gate it is and if it works with mining well (especially with Scanner on it)

Gates don't work with item ducts, you'd have to use Buildcraft pipes or structure pipes. I'm pretty sure there is a "work done" gate condition or something similar.

Not this, I thought about the fact that an energy cell deliver RF even if the machine it is connected not work.

That isn't part of the energy cell, that's part of the mining well. Buildcraft, forestry and railcraft natively use the MJ power system which can't be stored, instead you're supposed to store the fuel you are using and have your engines running constantly. To encourage this, the machines from buildcraft, forestry and railcraft all consume power even when they aren't doing anything.
Thermal Expansion originally used the MJ power system as well but moved to its own power system (along with a lot of other mods) in 1.6 but it retained the ability to convert RF to MJ using its energy conduits for legacy reasons.

Ok thank you, I thought that the mining well only use MJ when a block is mined.
Feed The Beast Wiki said:
It uses 25 MJ per operation and, given sufficient power, has a maximum mining speed of one block per tick.
