Been using it as my main flight mechanic in Agrarian Skies, it's not too bad, the resonant one has a decent life. I'm not too fond of the hover mode being some strange confluence of creative-mode flight and standard jet-packy stuff.

I love the physics of these jetpacks.

creative mode flight is nice for creative mode, but such an immersion breaker in survival

you're a bit late, as this mod has already been known since it came out and is also already included in the Agrarian Skies modpack
I like the mod, but I'm really hoping it'll improve more and more in the future, with perhaps more RF powered armor and tools and such

Power armor is still better but the jet packs are great for early game!

also I don't think Yusu meant anything negative by what he said, it's just that the mod has been pointed out in threads on this forum as far back as April, and been talked about in many other threads, including the one linked above. Heck, It's even had it's own share of drama thrown at it.

I think by reading between the lines, his statement translates roughly to "whoa, welcome to earth bud"

I haven't used them, but from what I've seen they work more like the IC2 jetpacks with a slow-fall hover mode. I haven't seen if there is a height-limit with them. The base IC2 jetpacks stopped just short of slime-island height, the advanced jetpacks from the GraviSuite add-on mod did better. My MPS can boost me into low-earth-orbit in a heck of a hurry. I love being able to see the sun, moon & stars pass below my feet in the overworld. Now if only I could build up here...

Back to simply jetpacks, I don't think you can add armor yet, but rumors say that will change.Unlike IC2, you already have tiers for improved range (RF storage capacity). I don't know if there is a difference in performance.

The different tiers of simply jetpack seem to have different drop speeds in glide mode. Each tier coming closer and closer to creative mode type flight.

They are better early flight but a fully decked out powersuit with flight tweaked to max (as in max settings, boots, flight control) with a nice optimized weight still beats it. It will depend on the recipe mode MPS is in as to wether the jetpacks are worth building. Using vanilla MPS you can bypass simply jetpacks it but if MPS is in any other recipe mode Simply Jetpacks will become good entry level flight.

TBH not much can compare to a fully decked out powersuit, they are kind of broken.
