Please, if I am cluttering up your thread let me know! As I was typing this I starting thinking that this might be too much of a thread hijack. I can start my own thread if you prefer?

Nah dude, it's fine! Sounds like you might have it in you to start your own LP, though - all it takes is a decent microphone, some speaking ability, and a little bit of software. Worth a try!

I know it's been a bit since the last one. New episode hopefully going up tonight or tomorrow morning.

The whole point of this is to stop the engine flickering when am using less power than the engines put out per cycle. my original simple gate, signal on when empty would still cause flickering, but wouldn't waste MJ, so I am going to try the RS NOR latch from RP2

Doesn't work.

using gates on pipes, one with redstone on empty, the other with redstone on full, each with red alloy wire leading to a side of the rs nor latch.
a) set the REC to redstone signal low ( default) when the gate lights up on full, the redstone signal is high causing the REC to not emit power anymore. until physically reset by breaking something.
b) set the REC to restone signal high, or signal disabled, and the REC will never reach full, it just sits at 599,99x and alternates between 2 digits, like 1 and 6, and never reaches full, to trigger the gate and shut the engines off.

I was supplying power with 40 electrical engines with iron tubes so 5 EU/t for 2MJ/t, and using power with 1 powered furnace cooking cobblestone(or cow, or corn, or sand)

so, ugh?

(EDIT: I took off the carpenter, centrifuge, and thermionic fabricator from the load end, they where causing some kind of parasitic power loss. Everything is working as intended now, i'll figure out which is the problem child after dinner)

layout: load <--- REC1 <-- REC2 <-- REC3 <-- Supply

Added a third REC to the series, and did the "is full", and "is empty" gates on REC2

Using redstone conduit for power transmission, and cobblestone structure pipe on each side of REC2 with a gate, one with redstone signal on empty, the other with redstone signal on full.

even when rec2 and rec3 are both almost full 599,99x they just sit and twitch between two digits ( this time 3 and 8 ) and never reach 600,000, even with all 40 engines running and nothing consuming power downstream at all.

Definitely the thermionic fabricator. It's a constant drain on MJ, along with the rolling machine, and...rock crusher, I think? Might be one or two others.

Wow, It never even crossed my mind to attempt to use a soul shard on a passive mob! forget animal breeding! Nice work! I wonder if you could get a villager soul shard :D maybe I'll give that a try on a creative map!

I stopped running two monitors on off of my nvidia 560 TI and that seems to have cleared up a few issues with my computer. I still issues with excessive water calculations I think, like when sticking a water source at the top layer of a quarry.

They can be pretty elusive. I usually look for big, open lava lakes so that they're easier to spot, but sometimes I've had to travel thousands of blocks just to find one. You could create a new world with the same seed and fly around in creative mode, but I don't know of any other ways to find one easily.

Playing with fire there :D almost literally, I was as surprised as you when the temp on the reactor went up so fast :D
I saw the patch note: steadfast bees will no longer drop in 10's in treasure chests, I think we got in under the wire! I wonder if they will just drop in 1-2's now, that would be painful.

Started playing with flowers, well, not intentionally, I was cross-breeding reeds and wheat for the heck of it, something to distract me from my branch mining, by the time I had gone through 3 complete re-setting of the cross breeds, I had 6 kinds of flowers and a bunch of stickreed! I got a different portal gun from a zombie spawner chest, it has an illusory cake with a candle in front of the portal! And it is mercifully silent!

Is the minimap gone for you as well ?

Yeah, it was hard enough to find any steadfast bees at all...would've taken forever to find enough in chests if there was only one or two each. Haven't seen any change with my minimap, though I haven't updated to Mindcrack 8.2.0 yet...maybe it's just reset your preferences? The launcher has a bad habit of doing that every update.

REI's minimap is not included in direwolf20 or mindcrack updates, I havent found any reason why yet.

Don't forget the villager trading system :D
Also have you looked at the new Xycraft teasers?
How goes the new Mystcraft stuff? I haven't gotten into full villager trading mode, so I have only a few pages yet.

A couple of thoughts for the next series, move slower maybe? at least on a per-episode basis.
More like a classroom series instead of a news series? You hit a lot of the high points, but skipped a lot of the planning and building, maybe something like, pick a main project for an episode, then do smaller updates on recent projects at the end? It seemed like you did an intense amount of playing off camera.
