The Thaumcraft 4.1 Experience

There is no inaccesible research, unless you mean things like thaumium and mirror magic

I believe if you have scanned a hidden research triggering item before upgraded to 4.1, you won't get the research by scanning those items again. Currently I can't get bone bow and ethereal bloom

At the very least the bone bow- i've already researched bones and bows so it's un-unlockable. I don't know if i'm missing more hidden researches, for obvious reasons.

Slight off topic from the last 5 pages or so, but I'm very happy with my Alchemy golems. I put them on their own floor in my wizard's tower. The trick is "hovering" the alchemic furnace 1 level above the floor. This allows the golems to move freely. I then "place" the golem on the bottom face of the furnace. All golems can access all jars after lots of clicking with the bell.

The furnaces with alembics stack on top are in the center.. The jars are placed in a circular pattern around the perimeter. This has eliminated all pathing issues and I have to say, it looks better than having tubes run everywhere.

This floor is directly above my Infusion Altar. The Infusion Altar can "see" all the jars.

I must say that after the 4.1 change, I got into golems. I now use a thaumium golem to guard my base from all those pesky mobs.

Who would ever think of chasing a projectile of primal energy with the thaumometer? It makes me wonder just how many other unthinkable things there are left to scan to unlock all the hidden research so I can unlock the KAMI stuff. I'm glad I disabled magic bees... (yes, I already know about the hidden research thread & I will more than likely resort to it when I am ready).

Glimmers of light from the arcane lamps can be scanned for lux

You can place blocks on those glimmers, too. I have to break them now and then when building inside arcane bore tunnels. You can also scan xp orbs.
