Hey everyone!

Have you played around with the new modular force field system version 3? The direwolf 20 pack I am currently playing with still has both versions enabled, and I experimented with both.

The new version is really pretty and the anti-player features are great. However, it doesn't seem to be a "forcefield" anymore, and more of an improved defense station. I tried to make a defensive perimeter with a forcefield, but it doesn't protect the blocks inside the forcefield anymore. An explosion will destroy anything, whereas the old forcefield would offer some protection from explosions.

That kinda makes the "new" force fields not suited for what used to be their main task: Reactor protection. For me, this makes the entire forcefield system pointless. What about you?

I actually mentioned this on the author's github. It does this because of how the field is slower to extend completely. So your explosion breaks blocks under the field and gets inside before it can close back into the hole. Speed modules are expensive, but help with this. Also, the disintegration module makes the field cut a trench for itself through the ground. This means that the field will be complete at all times, so an explosion shouldn't damage anything. (I think it still does a little bit, but it's greatly reduced.

EDIT: Link to the issue I opened. Looks like he decided to reopen it and create a new module. https://github.com/calclavia/Modular-Force-Field-System/issues/166
