And you are sort of correct, the show has 2 worlds one virtual and one "real". I don't think I need to say which would be the virtual world.

I also just love the fact that they never changed how William looked after xana took control of him. First his weapon was clean of whatever that black is and his clothes where mostly white, then XANA happened and he got changed to the above then he got freed and he still looked pretty much as the above.
