To be fair, it was a mod for Half-Life 2 - that's how it started - and only got made into a standalone game later on.
Also, lets clarify: the word wow (much wow! such doge) is not problematic, its the acronym "WoW", used for World of Warcraft, which bothers you, and thus potentially banned.
Clarity is important.
Claret is a wine.
Trying to be to clear about stuff is also bad as it sometimes will result in a lot of unneeded details cluttering up the sentences and making it a mess.
You can never have enough details in a sentence.
Brevity has its place, but that comes second to clarity.
that red 3 by 3 mm square spot behind that 4 by 4 mm circular spot, what also is used to make{insert way to much stuff here}........ do I need to go on?

Context is also very important. But I say it because I've seen unintentional offense caused on more than one occasion by someone trying to be too frugal with their words, when a couple more would have stopped their sentence being open to interpretation (and thus misinterpretation).
