Well, to be perfectly fair as the neutral party in this quarrel, Java 8 works perfectly well, just not for Minecraft. Even for Minecraft, I'm using J8 and it's working. I understand that this is not the case for everybody, though.

It should work well for the most part, at least in 1.8.
