I've been thinking of a idea for a pack for a few days now, and wanted something related to an ocean survival pack. I love water and the wildlife in the ocean and just everything down there is so pretty. My favorite animal is a seahorse (kinda random I know).

Anyways moving onto the Idea, It would be awesome to have the pack implement the player as one of the creatures in the sea where for miles and miles is just ocean and sea. So you must make your living down below, and the further you go down the more dangerous it gets, with other sea critters wanting to eat or attack you. In a later aspect of the game I think it would be nice to see the player try and survive above ground as well for a end game type of survival.

I originally wanted to make this modpack for myself but I thought it be nice to get some help with it and release it to the general public for others to enjoy. This may be a silly idea but I just thought I'd toss it out there and get some critic on it or maybe help to create it.

If you'd like to help me make this modpack drop me a PM or let me know through a reply on this thread.

I've had a similar idea to this and already began developing it. However, during the development, I've reached some problems with world generation. I'm just wondering if anyone has some solutions :)

Hmmm World gen mods do exist and there are settings to make a world like this in the custom world settings of vanilla minecraft. I wonder if there is a way to force the specific settings needed for such a world.

Edit -

Biome Tweaker and Lonely Biome are some other mods that might help with this kind of world gen

Thank-you for the suggestion, I've already used these mods and they're not what i'm looking for. Although they do work for a water world.

Here are some early pictures

Hmm, I kinda expected something like "life in a bubble of glass at the bottom of the sea" scenario when I first saw the thread. Something where the entire world is set under water up to height 255 or 200 and where you are forced to build and expand underwater, filtering oredust out of the oceanwater and stuff. This seems more like an island-thingy where you can play as usual, only on an island and not on a landmass the size of a continent or two.

I do like the idea, and I've built underwater bases before, I find the challenge interesting. My one issue is the light aspect; no matter how lovely and translucent the water looks from above, when I get below the waterline, it gets dark quickly. If I light up the ocean floor in all directions it still looks like a Deep Dark dimension, unless I'm looking from above the water. Do water-breathing potions remove/reduce this effect? I've only done diving helmet and doors.

Since the last update, I've changed the world generation completely. Currently, there are only 5 biomes, all custom made (plan to add more).

entire the world is set under water up to height 255 or 200

I've thought about this, and that's a reason for redoing the world generation.

Here are some pictures.

The ocean biome has flat terrain, as well as hill terrain.

To keep an element of surprise, I didn't show all 5 biomes.
