Yep. Sometimes I try to be clever, by taking a word, translating it into another language (usually Japanese or Latin), then changing it slightly.

its the Latin translation of the dutch word schaduw.
translated to English it should be shadow.
(I went from dutch ->Latin and didn't try English->Latin yet but unless google translate is being a derp it should stay the same )

I'm not sure I've actually seen a book with a list of names. Maps are pretty common, though.
