Hey guys! So from recent events I have been looking through my old ideas for mods and stuff, and regained my passion for making mod ideas and stuff! (Lol cheesy story xD)

So... I want to make this thread into a massive one with awesome ideas that everyone has, that could also get coded someday! (I have some knowledge of coding and might get back into it) But it is mainly for having cool ideas people wish were in FTB, or just minecraft in general. It could be anything from a mod add-on to just random ideas!

So.. Post your ideas and If they sound really awesome I will put them in this page, really neatly organized! Credit will be given and it will give me a change to get my ideas out too :D

Thought out ideas!

Ideas to expand on
-Better Nuclear Reactors (Harvest88)

-Tools that use MJ (Benben500)

-Multiblock engins, cables, (PeggleFrank)

-Tnturtle (jpezninjo)

Misc. Ideas
A pretty cool idea from slay_mithos making minecraft a more progressive game!
Research into how Minecraft detects some specific ingame events (going into the nether, going to the end, getting your first iron bar, your first diamond...).
If you can hook into those functions, do a mod that locks and unlocks recipes depending on what "phase" of the game the player is in.

Wouldn't it be cool to have specific things for the wood/stone age, and different ones after you accessed the End?

I don't mean to check if the achievement is unlocked or not, because they reset on a whim, but saving those events (player data, maybe?) and using them.

That could be really confusing to the players at first though, but if someone managed to do it right, it could open a whole new plane for some mods like EE and such, so they could balance their recipes depending on what the player has access to.
It could also make things more interesting in the different "phases", because it would give things to do, apart from rushing to diamond level right off the bat.

The best way I envision it would be to make most of it optional, not forcing the player into gimmicks just to progress, but giving him something to do.

Might as well give you the idea I had, because I don't have time for modding...

That's just an idea though, and not completely fleshed out, but if you want to tackle it, be my guest.

An idea I would seriously like to see someone take and make a mod for is better chat UI. Think customizable font (smaller mainly), unicode support, unlimited length of messages, private channels, better handling of whispers, multiple or tabbed chat windows, proximity chat, etc. etc. I have some specific things thought out, I just don't really have the time to implement and maintain it myself.

Super Solar Panels! ILoveGregtech actually is working on this right now, and hopes to get it finished by Summer.
:D

Edit: Thanks man! For spreading the word :D I currently have 3 guys for sure and possibly another two to make a 5 man team to make the mod :)
It's gonna be awesome (I anticipate)

How about upgraded nuclear reactors and have SUC return but this time a better system than just stuffing ice and calling it a day? Such as having to make liquid coolant and having to make a mutli block cooling chamber for it to run though and take some time to come back out cooled before you you run it back in your reactors. The bigger it is the faster it can cool the same amount of coolant. I would also like being able to make huge multi block reactor structures that would be more effective and overall better than just a reactor with 6 chambers. Also perhaps better heat vents and components to use in the reactors for those that like spending good resources on better quality components and reactors.

Multiblock engines. Not like the boring steam-producing multiblocks, something fun. Like a nuclear engine, that generates MJ and has to be built using uranium blocks, bronze blocks, and reinforced stone, with an interface like the nuclear reactor. Also, the engines should look like BC engines, and have moving parts. You could do it like RP2 did it and just make it so that you can't step near the center of it and just have some hollow square shaped ring moving up and down.

Multiblock cables would also be interesting, with a large 5x5 multiblock transformer.

Also, a multiblock that uses multiblocks (Railcraft/Xycraft tanks for liquid fuel storage, and possibly some large 5x5x11 blast furnace that makes steel 3x as fast but has to use a fuel that can produce 5 MJ or more in a biogas engine).

A multiblock that either uses RP2 Microblocks (I literally have no idea how you're going to be able to detect the type of microblock it is, this may be hell/undoable) or the tiny blocks mod would be cool for some kind of advanced printer that uses a little chunk of a diamond block and some other micro/tiny block components.

I like multiblocks. Can ya' tell?

Wow good ideas and you would lke multiblocks reactors that are far better than just 6 chambers and my Cooling Chamber idea too for bringing back SUC reactors.

TNTurtle

EDIT: I'm supposed to think out on this? Ok.

Well my thought process was that since turtles are relatively easy to produce, mind you just the turtle, no other upgrades, why not a single use turtle with a special function? So this turtle would be made with a special upgrade item made from one TNT surrounded with 4 iron and 4 iron bars. The command would be "turtle.ignite()". The argument aka number is really just a number added to the regular TNT fuse time of 4 seconds. I use the word ignite since turtles can output redstone signals, and this allows sufficient (barely) time for one to terminate the program. Also there's a little countdown displayed represented by dots, since numbers are for squares.

Okay so I've updated the first post and added 3 category

The first will be for expanded ideas, that I will be adding to and other people can too!

The second is just random ideas that can be added to.

And the final one is ideas that are good, but dont really fit into the first 2 :D
