Is Thaumcraft going to be added to the main FTB pack? I see it's in the "Magic Pack" now, but not in the normal pack.

It is not currently planned to be added to the FTB pack for the FTB map. It is in all likelihood going to be in the Universal pack. It is definitely going to be in the Direwolf pack. The current beta pack seems like it's going to be replaced by the FTB pack for the map rather than the Universal pack.
The FTB team doesn't think thaumcraft fits in with the theme of the rest of the modpack and does not want to use it for official FTB maps.
That being said, it will probably be included in the universal pack which should contain every mod the FTB team can get permission for.

Of course at the time Slowpoke clarified this, he also said he had not taken a good look at the new Thaumcraft yet and its exclusion for the map mod pack is subject to change. Personally, I don't think it's unlikely he'll change his mind as the new research mechanic is heavy in resource management, which seems to be the theme of the FTB map. In a skyblock style map where resources are quite limited to begin with, I think it would integrate extremely well with the rest of the resource "puzzle".
