On an Infinity server: I've researched everything and anything I could, but there are three or four items still showing as needing more information to learn. I'm wondering if this is because I do not have 100% warp yet. I'm close to it though. I found the Crimson Rites book, but the information has not shown up in my Thaumonomicon yet. Any ideas?
EDIT:
I did keep using knowledge fragments to create research until there was nothing left to discover.
Which tab are these items on?
Reading Crimson Rites is a prerequsite to getting the eldritch tab to open up, but once the tab is open it doesn't - afaik - unlock anything specific. If you have read the book, but can't yet see the tab, simply have enough warp to trigger warp events and the tab should open on the next warp event.
Not true there Chris, I've had no problems getting the eldrich tab without seeing a single cultist or their book. That's not to say finding and reading that book won't help (as it gives warp), but it's by no means a prerequisite.
Reading the cultists book researches it's own entry in the thaumnomicon, along with access to the opening the eye research, which is needed to get to the outer lands. Some advanced stuff needs a primordial pearl (from the outer land's bosses), and you'll need to scan one of those to be able to research it's uses.
The two missing items are in the eldrich tab. I watched a youtube movie and thought I saw a Crimson Rites button, but maybe that was a different version? Anyhow, see the attached picture of the two items I still need to learn in the eldrich tab.
Ahh, ok. So that's the last bit of it eh? How hard is this boss? I read about it but wondered if my gear was good enough. I've got the Void Thaumaturge gear. Interesting that there are no feet for that armor. Is that gear plus the Holy Sword Excaliber good enough for the boss? I've also got Flux-Infused armor.
There are 4 bosses, one of which i have not found (the game insists on giving me the other 3) and one I feel is slightly tougher than the others I've actually attempted. Be careful in there, the maze dimension prevents flight, and is a maze.
The maze contains a few mobs of particular interest, Eldrich Gaurdians (who are a tad tougher here than in the overworld), Shambling Husks which are pretty much the same as zombies, but they spawn eldrich crabs on death. Eldrich Crabs (which are affected by Bane of Arthopods) which can jump on your head to do damage to you (I beleive this gives some temp warp too, while it stays there).
Speaking of Warp, Certain runestones in the walls and floor can zap you for minor damage and do inflict warp. However the maze is also littered with useful treasures. Old Urns and crates give similar treasures to the bags of treasure you can get from champion mobs, the strange crystals give balanced shards when broken, and knowledge fragments can be gained from the glyphed stones. The eldrich crabs are very reliable droppers of Ender Pearls should you need them too.
To actually get into the boss room you'll need to find the tablet key, somewhere in the maze.

When exploring the maze:
* Be aware that mobs will spawn behind you. You will want ranged damage with an aoe component such as provided by a wand focus. The Eldritch Guardians that spawn inflict withering, so you need Protection IV on your gear. There are face huggers that attack you from the ceiling.
* standard caving techniques prevent getting lost. Always place torches on (e.g) the left wall, and take all left turns when exploring. When you find dead ends, wall them off at the nearest junction.
* Somewhere in the maze you will find a magical door that is locked, and elsewhere you will find a talisman. Bring the talisman to open the door.
* A focus of mining is useful to destroy spawners and the runing blocks that inflict warp from a distance. Equal trade to exchange blocks in the floor so you don't leave traps to fall into.
* The boss, one of 4, will be a tough fight. You can typically cheese it by staying outside the room, building a protective structure that you can attack through but the melee mobs cannot damage you. The room itself is protected with a field that protects it from blocks being placed. If you go into the room to fight you will want at least diamond level armor with max protection and some runic enhancement, a full set of runic baubles, and some regeneration and heal potions. And a spare set at home in case the fight goes sideways and you need to ninja in to get your gear.
The bosses can be very tough. They also have an effect where if you try to deal more than a certain amount of damage at once, they'll get enraged, temporarily become immune to damage, and increase their attacking strength. Afterwards, the maximum amount of damage you can inflict per hit is capped.
The bosses can wreck you if you're ill-prepared. I've had one of the bosses damage me through Draconic armor and the only reason I didn't die was because I put Last Stand II on the armor (probably because I ended up with a guardian boss with the "Mighty" modifier so it ended up doing even more damage than what it would deal normally). So I recommend some high-end armor (diamond, diamond equivalent, void armor, etc.) fully enchanted, with runic shields, and probably a notch apple while you're at it. If you have a ton of liquid XP, go put Last Stand II on your armor and fill up on a couple hundred levels.
The non-boss mobs can be one-hit killed with my ranged weapon of choice (signalum crossbow with enderium bolts using ExtraTiC).
The maze isn't particularly big and you can usually explore the whole thing in one session if you bring enough supplies. I personally find it much easier to explore than a vanilla cave or mineshaft, mainly since caves and mineshafts are quite haphazard in the way they generate. Each maze should have one tablet and one boss room. If you need more primordial pearls, go open another obelisk, and it will create a new maze.
I think it's the guardians which drop eyes at a low rate, which can help reduce the number you need to craft for the next time.
Besides the boss, I've seen the following types of rooms, passageways, and objects (the ones I can remember):
Passageways may contain crystals which can be broken for balanced shards, glowing crusted rock, glyphed stone that drops a knowledge fragment, runed stones which zap you and give temporary warp, urns/crates which drop treasure, and crab spawners.
A room that contains a bunch of glyphed stones. Doesn't have to be a dead end room.
Crab spawner room made from crusted rock. Contains several spawners, along with a bunch of treasure urns and crystals. Always a dead end room.
The room that contains the tablet you need to unlock the boss room. Usually guarded by a couple of guardians.
Some passageways will be obstructed by crusted dirt. You can dig through this fairly easily.
Sometimes you'll run into a passage with taint.
You can also run into a passage with a whole bunch of runed stones. Some of them will also hide behind normal stones, making it hard to clear them all.
