I have establihed my thaumcraft base fairly well with several pure nodes. However, when I combined my 5th and 6th aura or so, the flux level began to go upwards afterwards instead of down. The only flux events that have occured are speed effect, blindness effect and lightning, but I have died afk several times from the lightning. The node has a dangerous flux level and is outside of the range of any other nodes. Furthermore I have bene affected by over 100 flux events without the node ever reaching below dangerous. The only machine I have that could generate flux is an infernal furnace with 3 bellows attached. If this is a bug then is there any way for an admin to reset the flux and if not how should I fix the problem.

When aura gets replenished, flux comes in with it. Combining nodes frequently means you have to recharge a bunch of aura. That probably kickstarted your flux increase. Depending on how much work you're having it do, the infernal furnace can more than keep up with a pure node's ability to cleanse itself of flux. If your aura is overcharged (i.e. 110/100) then every so often it will use some of that vis to re-infuse some stone (infused stone is what you get shards from). This is awesome if you're farming shards, but terrible if you want to minimize flux as each time the aura recharges after infusing stone you end up with more flux. Well I tried to keep the node full of vis for a while to stop vis transfer but nothing seemed to work. In all, according to the values on the wiki I discharged upwards of 5000 flux from events. Its a sad day when you have to move a pure node with crystal cores, but apparently frame motors work well with the crystal core so I didn't have to recombine all the pieces 5 times.
Edit: Apparently moving nodes with the crystal core has some sor of positive effect on the fulx because shortly after using the core 4 times my node was at the "none" flux level.
