I built my base in a wasteland. I just recently got started in thaumcraft, and now I have researched most things available. I am wearing goggles now, and went south of my base a bit and ran into this..

Is this a dark node like found in the barrow mounds? It's almost 700 vis. My area is about 300, and in the next node over. I haven't actually found my node yet though. Do I need to worry about enclosing this node? It shows flux is high here.

I've seen the pure nodes inside of silverwood trees. Are there any other kinds of nodes, and are there pictures anywhere that show the difference?

How exactly does one enclose a node like that? I have one in a mound and technically it's enclosed in the mound but Wisps still keep pouring out even though I know it's sealed. Also if I fill the enclosure up with something like Lava or cactus will that kill the wisps as they spawn?

ok.. I've used netherbrick and glass to enclose it. It looks like the node is 3x3x3 in size. how much space around it do I need to enclose?

Since it is such a big node I would stay in that general area, but not nearby.

Aura is non-renewable, every time you use vis/aure it is gone forever. Even silver wood trees don't create aura. But, nodes will steal aura from nearby larger nodes to attempt to equalize. You can use this to your advantage by living in a nearby chunk, stealing aura from the dark node without having to deal with flux.
