I found a bright pure node in a Silverwood tree and I would very much like to make it bigger. I'm not vary familiar with Thaumcraft nodes and the bullying process so I'm hoping some of you more knowledgeable peeps would be willing to help me out.

It currently has:
  • 6 Aqua
  • 8 Ordo
  • 8 Terra

What is the best way to make it bigger?

What are some things to watch out for?

The server I'm playing on has practicalities installed so moving nodes is way too easy with matter transporters... So, That won't be an issue.

Node bullying: Bigger node will consume the smaller node. Using a Node Stabilizer will prevent a node from being bullied, as well as bullying. Advanced Node Stabilizer will allow the node being stabilised to bully non-stabilised nodes, but will still follow the rule of Bigger Node bullying Smaller node. So if the node in the Adv. Stab. is smaller than it's intended target, it will not attempt to consume the bigger node. Also, range of bullying is within 4 blocks if I am not mistaken.

Can you stabilize the node while it is still inside of the log/totem? Will nodes inside of logs/totems still bully other nodes?

I have several logs and totems next to each other not bullying each other, I assume being in the log prevents it from GETTING bullied?

I also assume that if you jar it it will no longer be in a log?

I've also heard that jarring nodes has a 70% chance of degrading? (AKA: Losing it's bright feature)

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe if you drain a node from it's vis so it has lesser vis than the bullying node you're trying to merge it with, the bullying node is able to drain the vis of the other node.
but seeing as the bullying node has very low vis, it's going to take a looooong time before you can actually make it a big node.
