Thaumcraft Bug?

I was trying to research something in Thaumcraft on FTB Mindcrack Pack, and it keeps saying "You discover something, but you have nothing to record your findings on", the confusing part is, I have the Thaumonomicon. Any help?

sounds like you are just tossing items into your crucible... if you do it that way (not a way i'd suggest...) carry paper and scribing tools, gotta write your notes down somehow after all.
