Hello fellow FTBers, how do I get rid of this ugly ass effect from a previously existing Thaumcraft 4 Barrows Hill?

I've got them too, in fact I ran my EnderQuarry (which replaces all blocks with dirt) in a desert which looked perfectly normal, but after it finished and all the sand had changed to dirt, it now looks exactly like your screenshots - a big ugly dark square. I'm only glad it hasn't turned into a full-blown infected piece of land with those ugly worms everywhere. LOL Talk about a blight upon the land, literally.

The effect is from the Eerie biome from the sinister node. You can use Ethereal Blooms to return the Eerie biome to normal. Just destroying the node isn't enough.

don't ethereal blooms change eerie biomes into magical biomes? if that's the case you'll still end up with different colored grass, though it'll be a brighter color of grass instead of darker

They might change natural eerie and taint biomes to magic forest, but since the eerie biomes surrounding the sinister nodes are created after worldgen by the node itself, the bloom should turn it back into whatever it was before.

You're thinking of pure nodes, which do turn the area around them to magical forest.

aah, that might be it.
I haven't played around much with the ethereal blooms in 1.7 so I wasn't completely sure about it

So, if I understand correctly, using an Ethereal Bloom I can remove the Eerie biome and then I can also remove the Ethereal Bloom. Will it take long for it to clear out? Also, I am the admin of the server.
The Bloom works the way that it will return biomes back to their original states yeah.

The bloom will start working immediately changing the biome block by block. If the area is loaded then it will not take very long. It will work in a 8 block radius of the bloom.

Once done you can remove the bloom.
