Thaumcraft 4 - Why won't this connect?

I don't get it. I've tried moving the blue nodes all over and it just won't connect to the last research point.

Is the one not connecting the originally lit node?(ie the first one)

the glowing path only goes in one direction, splits are not allowed. If this is the case you can toss the note out and start fresh. and keep a lookout for notes like this, they are difficult if not impossible to complete and you are better off just chucking them at your nearest and dearest garbage disposal method.

The one not connecting is the one on the far right. I have a solid line of runes connecting them all. There are no splits.

Was the first node the glowing one on the far left or the one 3rd in from the left?

Looking at the picture, I'd guess that the node that you're trying to connect to the unlit one is the original glowing node. That node is already sending energy to the left, and since nodes won't split, it's incapable of moving the energy to the right node. If the third node from the left isn't the original node, then the original glowing node must be the far left node and it's some sort of bug.
