Ok, so I've got all the research I'm particularly interested in at the moment, have a nice room full of aura nodes and a recharging station, a couple of wands and a few staves, runic armour, thaumostatic harness, all the cool bits, and want to try turning my attention towards the KAMI stuff.

But, as far as I can tell, that involves completing the research for all of the REST of TC4 and TT, all the bits I'm less worried about, and using up my, now quite precious research aspects in doing so (also, even with Research Mastery, Humanus is a PAIN to get, as it's multi-stage).

I'm guessing that what I actually need to do now is alternate between researching things I'm never going to use and making the things I'm never going to use, in order to gain the research points from scanning them.

Anyone else find this part of the grind a little tedious? Any hints?

If you're running out of aspects, you can use the Deconstruction table to get more primals. You can also set up crystal clusters which slowly give you Thaumcraft aspects. I believe there is a way to reset your aspect research as well in case you run out of them involving deleting some player data, but I'm not sure how that works.

I just scan a lot of nodes. Make a flat mystcraft age(or use your already made quarry world) and just go node hunting. I bottle up the good ones for wand recharge station, break some of the bad ones for Essences and make sure to scan them all.

Get a deconstructiong table and just put inside 2 stacks of vanilla crafting tables inside. For every crafting table there is 100% chance that you will get one of prime aspects appart of ingis. Then just combine aspects togather t get whatever compands you need. Also in config options you can set that there is no mini games and you just buy research for a set price of few aspects. Also if you play on server you can just speak to your friends and exchange whatever you both researched to speed things up.

Scan every aura node you come across. With things that can be dyed, each color can be scanned separately. By changing the color on a single item, you may be able to scan it up to 16 times. With endertanks & enderchests, all 3 color code bars have to be the same color. On a server, take advantage of the ability to share research. In single-player, remove magic bees from the pack if you don't plan on getting into bee breeding. If you scan all the things from the start, you should be able to get through most of the research without having to combine too many aspects in the table. Look for links that use the aspects you have the most of. For anything that could link to ordo or terra, I'd cross the board with alternating saxum & metallum.

This is old news. It's also not as useful as many think, since Ignis is needed for Potentia, which is needed for Praecantio, which is used in a lot of researches I've done/seen.

I found flint to be an amazing source of stuff in the deconstruction table.

I know it isn't any thing new but since OP was asking I assumed he didn't know about it as to ingis 1 Trip to Neather gave me more than 100 of it. I never had a problem with ingis in my games usually what I was low on was Aer and Ordo.

I agree with Shevron flint is surprisingly complex item and easy to obtain in unlimited quantity Nether wart is another one that is renewable and useful

Nether Wart is my go-to for deconstruction table usage. As for all the ignis in the nether, I honestly don't see how, unless you include scanning nodes, and I see very few nodes in the nether these days. Unless you mean grabbing a couple stacks of 'rack and chucking it into so decon tables...

Crafting tables should be a good source too. Fabrico should break down into the Instrumentum(same as in Flint) while also having Arbor. And it is dirt cheap to make if you have a treefarm.

Ive been running an MFR grinder with several wisp spawners beneath my house, Ive got a ton of wispy essences in my filing cabinet now, almost as good as mana beans. Takes a while but it works. I havent been able to find a magical forest yet, so no mana beans for me.

My main problem now is figuring out what needs to be discovered to unlock the Kami line. I'm using Resonant Rise and there's several TC addons that seem to complete. Oh bother.

You only need vanilla TC and TT done, newest versions (which not sure if RR has) have a seperate tab for each addon( except for PB, even then all addon items should have a mod label in the thaumonomicon)
Do not forget hidden research as well!

RR updates more than anyone so I know its on the latest versions. I completed all of that stuff, even went through the checklist.
