I have no idea what to do in thaumcraft :p

The beauty of it is that all you need to know is how to make a bookcase and wand and then you're set. Once you've got the thaumononiomnomnomicon-cron(sic?)
all the info you need is there in game for you. It's an ingenious system to save you tabbing out to look something up, only to insta-forget the moment you get back in game haha.

Even someone with no previous knowledge of Thaumcraft could pick it up and start experimenting with the initial info without reading so much as a single wiki. Azanor really did a great job with immersion and accessibility.

Has anybody else encountered the problem where a wold has no aura? I cheated in a pair of goggles of revealing to check why my wand wasn't charging, only to see that there is no aura at all. However, a copy of the world does have an aura. Anybody have a suggestion of what i could check/do to fix this without starting a new world? I'm sorry if this isn't the place for this btw.

try running off into the distance a fair bit and see if the aura rises, you may have just hit a spot without any aura nodes yet.

Are you using an old world? From the 'Adding Thaumcraft Generation To Existing Worlds' section in this thread:

Azanor said:
  • If this is the first time loading Thaumcraft with that save, you can leave the regen_key setting as 'DEFAULT' otherwise set it to anything else.
  • You need to choose what to regenerate. I strongly recommend you set aura_nodes to 'true' if this is the first time you are doing this. Without the aura you won't be able to do 99.9% of the things you could in Thaumcraft.
  • Run the game. It will lag for a while and you should see some console spam about chunks being regenerated. This is fine - just wait it out. It shouldn't take too long. If the world had been explored a lot you might see the message reappear every now and again. This is also normal.
  • If, for some reason, you wish to do this again or somehow your savefile got corrupted and your aura nodes have gone missing, all you need to do is set the regen_key value to something else. Any word would do.
