im new here so i dont know if this is the right place to put this.

i have a strange thaumcraft 3 issue... i have high flux... yet i have done absolutly nothing but research... i havnt even light a fire under my crucible yet, nor filled it up. i think it may have something to do with the face that i have about 10 silverwood trees growing beside my house. i planted them cuz as i understand they make their own aura node, so i thought i'd boost my aura up for when i did start making things.

dose having many silverwood trees effect your aura negativly? or is there something that automaticly causes flux to increase without players doing anything?

All those silverwoods are probably wreaking havoc on your flux. I'd recommend not going overboard with those trees. 2-3 is usually enough to keep your node healthy unless you're reallllyyyy trying to kill the node. With excessive flux, you could start getting weird stuff, like random status afflictions or weird weather. Let it die down, then start researching stuff.

When a Silverwood Tree grows, it borrows a bit of power from nearby Nodes to start with, to create its own, then Aura starts visibly (with the goggles) flowing into it from bigger Nodes to finish filling it up. What you're doing when you plant a Silverwood Tree is moving around your Aura, not creating more of it. If anything, it's causing Infused Stone in the region to dull as Aura is pulled from the ground to make up for the new vacancy it just filled. The only real way to create more Aura is to craft and place Crystal Clusters.

Any time you do anything that causes the Aura to shift around, such as planting new Pure Nodes, Flux is generated in each of the effected Nodes. Because new Pure Nodes are so small, they tend to pull from any other Node in range, generating a bit of Flux in the whole lot of them. You've done this 10 times. If that alone has resulted in high Flux... then that would mean that every Node in the area has possibly reached high Flux from this...

Basically Flux is something you can limit with very careful Thaumcraft use, but it is not something you can prevent completely, and sooner or later anyone delving into Thaumcraft is going to have to deal with threats from Flux.

Make sure you do NOT have it on peaceful. When you have a lot of Flux the aura node will try to even itself back out by the wisps it will spawn. Yes, they can hurt you if you are close to one but killing them is fine. My boyfriend and I found this out when I was trying to figure out why a node dropped by leveling two layers off a hill. So I tried to combine nodes and well it kinda failed but I left it alone while we built more and he turned off peaceful to easy or normal and the wisps appeared. Now my tower has no Flux and the Main Tower still has moderate but it is a MUCH bigger node.

Um, I'm trying to make MORE flux for the point of research. So far I've got a node with lightning shooting out, and a crucible with loads of mutatio chucked in, how do i make it worse?
Note: I'm in creative
