I am trying the use the terraformer ic2 with the cultivator on infinity. My problem is that we have plenty of RF Power but no eu power providers. I am currently running it off dimensional trans connected with rednet cables bridging the gap. This works ok but I feel it's not getting the max power. Its very slow. Any one worked out a simple Rf to eu transfer system yet?

24 hours left running it didn't plant anything. Only changed some of the sand to grass.

I'm trying to cover a new city in flower's/grass. On a very large scale any other ideas that might work instead of the terraformer?

If you don't have a mod that converts RF into EU directly then you simply need to burn the RF to get fuel to use for EU production. One idea to use a battery of Magma Crucibles and convert lava producing blocks into lava for geothermal generators. Or if you have MFR then laser drilling for ores can yield some fuels (coal and uranium).

Will look into it. Only worry is if I do all that an it doesn't make a difference.
Thank you

Hmmm... They only give 20eu/t each and the cultivator needs 20eu/t. Would need a lot of them to make it work.

Yup I believe this is the most expensive "mode" to use on the terraformer. But I would say at 200+ eu/t should yield acceptable speed.

Well thank you. Will keep at it looks like I'm going to give the build a rest and head off into the ic2 side of things for a bit.

Any any other suggestions to a terraformer might be an easier root for covering a city with flowers and such? Doing it by hand looks to fake for me.

Sorry I am not aware of any other methods.. and sure thing!

The easiest way to generate EU off a RF power grid that I've seen is using steam as a fuel, seeing as it can be used as a fuel for RF generators as well. I assume you don't have much invested into IC2 since you are looking to end-around power gen, so I'll suggest my personal end-around setup: furnace fuel->MFR Steam Boiler->RC Steam Turbine. This setup allows a tree farm (or similar renewable fuel source) to create 400mb/t of steam. The RC Turbine uses 320mb/t to produce 200EU/t. Its not cheap to make, and it does require periodic maintenance, but I find it to be worth it for what little IC2 I use.

I agrees with using steam as a "well rounded" fuel as a valid option for changing the power grid. However please note he already producing RF and needed a way such as my to "convert" it down to EU.

I understand that, but there is no direct conversion from RF->steam. This allows a way to generate the needed power without delving fully into IC2, and the steam can be rerouted to RF generation once he no longer needs the EU. It was my impression that this was a one-off use for a specific purpose. If this isn't the case, he's better off building a dedicated EU generation grid anyway.
