I want to create a light tech based pack to play with my boys who are 7 and 8. I want to focus on a single tech mod, so as to not overwhelm them with the complexity. This would really be a start for them into the world of playing in survival. I am looking for suggestions on which tech mod to focus on. I was thinking thermal or ender io or mekanism, but I am open to suggestions. Which tech mods stand on their own well, and offer content from beginning to end game? looking at 1.12 stuff

Also, on a side note. Are there any dimenion mods that are tech themed instead of magic? It seems like there is basically stuff like RF tools, or stuff with rockets, but that is probably too complicated for them. Anything simple?

If you want a decent dimension mod, I'd say Galacticraft for beginners. It may not work as nicely as Advanced Rocketry, but it's quite a bit simpler.

The thermal series is great for beginners imho, because it's simple to get into, but complex enough to not become boring quickly.
