So as of lately, I've seen some TC tutorial/vids and have a few questions.

On Etho's 2nd FTB season, he builds this really large multiblock, which isn't the infusion altar. What is it? Is that a TC4 thing?

For me, the only thing I would be going for is the ability to convert netherstar into EU. I don't need the armour since I am using the IC2/TiCo mods for that portion. Arcane bore, etc. cannot replace my quarry or laser drills.

What else is there? Aside from portable hole, etc. that would be useful for a tech player, looking to automate process for mass production. I am not looking for gimmicks, as those provide very short term, non-automatable (cause it's pointless to do so) projects.

Its the automatic alchemy thingy.. You need the arcane constructs over a crucible, then wand it.. Then you can make any recipe that is done in the crucible automatically, just pump essence and put the required items :)[DOUBLEPOST=1397002290][/DOUBLEPOST]And if you are a tech person, the alumentum is a pretty nice energy source.. If you use the automatic alchemy thing to craft it from charcoal, you get double the efficiency that you get from simple charcoal and you only need one more step that, if using bellows, goes incredibly fast :)

Hmmm. Well the only problem is that using charcoal would be in steam boilers. I am not sure if they accept alumentum.

Arcane constructs? Enlighten me. Is this in TC3? I am trying to look this shit up.

They do.

And no, its a thaumcraft 4 thing, of course... Etho is using the new version of thaumcraft.. Also, Tc3 had no infusion multiblock, so that basically tells you the version :) Id recommend 2 things, first, update to thaumcraft 4, you'll like it a lot, im sure, even as a tech person, and also install a mod called magitech which will merge the two things :p Even though they are basiaclly the same... Magic is a tech tree, it only changes the source of the energy, but is still tech.

Yep, not exactly double, i think its a 1.7 value, so its a 70% more than charcoal.. At least with the version im using, and nope.. For unleashed the last version of thaumcraft usable is 3.0.5i, for thaumcraft 4 you need minecraft 1.6.4.. But everymod in unleashed is updated by now, so if you want to make a custom unleashed pack for 1.6.4 id recomend to download monster and delete/add accordingly to save some effort and to have the universal configs for 1.6.4 ready to go :)[DOUBLEPOST=1397003474][/DOUBLEPOST]If you want to keep your unleashed world (somethinsg will dissapear because of removal of their 1.5.2 counterparts like IC2 stuff which got a massive overhaul) you can do some CFG trickery and get the same id's you were using before OR use a map editor to replace old id's with the new ones (Which i recommend so you can update the pack without having to redo all the cfg's, at the long term it will be better)

Hmmm. Monster might be a season 3 type thing.

I am not too caring about features. I stayed on Ultimate until the start of the Monster pack development. I took a year-ish break (school) and came back to Unleashed.

There is just a lot more information about Unleashed to cross reference heh. I tend to play a very planned and steady-state style, since I am more interested with engineering systems, than having cool features.

Thus, it might be why I'll skip out on Monster till next year for season 3. What will 1.7 be called? FTB Boogieman.[DOUBLEPOST=1397003818][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, if you wouldn't mind telling me how you might automate the production of alumentum, TC3 style. That is of course if it is possible.

Updating to latest versions of mods would not only give cool features but also engineering features.. Applied energistics water transport for example.. It has a high cost / high reward horizon :D Also.. You dont know what engineering is until you've come to the monster side of the force and tried reactor and rotary craft... Just saying..

I guess what I'm saying is that I've already spent 15+ hours on this world, so I might as well run with it for this season.

There is enough stuff here to keep me busy.

I also take new packs as a chance to switch things up. This season I'm relying more on TE/MJ where as I was IC2/EU centric last season. Also, I am spending a lot more time trying to do multiple things, rather than create a single beefy system, aimed at one thing. (I wanted to max a matter fab EU intake, by converting biofuel->steam->MJ->lava->EU.... Super inefficient and infrastructure heavy).
