I swear that T5 spawners were supposed to spawn mobs even if a player was not near it..

I have a t5 Skelly spawner and the area is chunk loaded but when I leave the area the mods stop spawning..

Come to think of it the spawner is going much much slower since I upgraded my server to version 8.1.1 Mindcrack.. .

I thought remember this thing spitting out mobs faster.

I'm really confused..

Any ideas?

Thanks.

no one knows? hmm dang... this is kinda frustrating lol

I guess its a vanilla mob mechanic.. they despawn if your further then 128 blocks away.. Finally found some info on it..

Was hoping that soul shards mobs would use there own rules.

I think computers and turtles could as players according to spawners, maybe try that?

Do you have a chunk loader in the area, I don't know if the t5 is also a chunk loader. Maybe try that and see what happens

On the chunk loader click show lasers and make sure the spawner is inside the lasers

I tried both the chicken chunks and Railcraft chunk loaders and there is a attack turtle that kills the mobs and a xpturtle that collects xp.

I'm thinking that it has to do with the vanilla mechanic that mobs depspawn if a player is not within 128 blocks of them. I was hopping that Soulshards would bypass this mechanic but it doesn't seem to..

I did some research and it looks like if No one at all is in the world and you have it chunk loaded the mobs won't despawn. So I would have to put the xpfarm in its own mystcraft age. I tested this by keeping my chunkloader at my Xpfarm in the overworld and logging off and when I logged back on my turtle was full of XP from the mob farm.

SO I guess as long as no one is in the world at all the mobs will stay loaded. But if there is a player in the world and they are Not within 128 blocks the mobs will despawn.

I wonder if the Dev of Soul Shards could find a way to get past this.

It is a known bug with Soul Shards. I think ShadwDrgn is working on it.

Hopefully he figures it out :).

For now it seems the solution is to either:
A: Stay within 128 blocks of your spawner Or
B: Put your spawner in its own mystcraft world so there are no players in the world when its doing its thing.
