If you have an integrated GPU it can be that minecraft uses that one instead of your GeForce 660 GTX660 this will cause performance issues.

(allocating 16gb to MC)

Dear god no...

Not in any particular order
Install Optifine.
2-3 gig MAX RAM.
Remove JVM's
Install Java8_latest.
Make sure java is running on your GPU(google how to do this for your card).

That'll sort(or help) FPS problems

For TPS problems:
Run OPIS
If that doesn't show you what's eating you then good luck.

Dear god no...

Yeah, yeah. I should have known better, but I didn't do my homework...

Not in any particular order
Install Optifine.
2-3 gig MAX RAM.
Remove JVM's
Install Java8_latest.
Make sure java is running on your GPU(google how to do this for your card).

Optifine, check.
2-3gb ram, check.
Remove JVMs- Does this look right? http://windowsitpro.com/development...microsoft-java-virtual-machine-jvm-windows-xp
Latest Java, check.
Java on GPU, check.

I'll follow up soon. Unfortunately dealing with some unrelated crash symptoms, but I'll let you know how this works out. Thanks @ScottulusMaximus.

most computers have an integrated GPU in the cpu, this one is very weak.
Game computers also have an separate GPU from either AMD or nvidea these are suppost to be very powerful. If you have one you want that your games use this one instead of the integrated GPU.
which gpu is used is normaly decided by your computer and usually it got it correct.

Minecraft however is made in such a way that it is seen as a program that doesn't need the power the other GPU uses and thus most of the time it will use the integrated GPU this will result in bad fps or at least worse then when it uses the dedicated one. You can however change its default behavior to fix this.
