I am looking for some mods to add to spice up my modpack, now that I have most of the basics in. Any helpful suggestions are appreciated :D

I am looking for:
Mods that improve AI (any mob)
Mods that improve the combat system
Mods that make mobs more difficult
Mods that make surviving in the wild more difficult
Mods that are just plain fun
Mods that add mobs that can breach bases (break blocks)
-No big tech mods (I have enough)
-No big magic mods (Thaumcraft is enough for me)

What I already have related to the above ^:
Invasion mod, infernal mobs, apocalypse mod (fathertoast), special mobs (father toast), special AI (father toast), harvest craft, hunger overhaul, enviromine. HQM. Custom configs which make zombies spawn in hoards and run terrifyingly fast.
sorry if you suggest to me a mod that I didn't list already but I have, I'm writing this on my phone.

Oh, and does anyone know if the Blood Moon mod works for 1.7.10 FTB mopacks? I've tried installing it many times and it causes fatal errors each time.

Lycanites mobs, however I would go to it's configs to alter mob events to not use the blinding splash popups. Or disable mob events outright.
But lycanites adds a whole host of deadly creatures, even adds Doom2 and 3 mobs to the nether, they absolutely and utterly punish the uninitiated.
If you do add it pro tip: don't build a nether portal in your base as demons have a chance of spawning from them. And don't build wooden houses even 50 blocks away from lava lest a lava lobber makes a house call.
Also geonatches and to a lesser extent treents will preaty much make your ticker a write off. They aren't too tough but they always manage to startle you.

Random Things adds a blood moon feature, where the night goes red and way more mobs spawn then usual.

If your mod pack is to be shared publicly, just be aware that you won't be able to use Mo' Creatures due to it's mod pack permissions.

But you could add special mobs for advanced difficulty mobs :)

I have considered Lycanites, I still might add them, but my problem with them is they can still be stopped by nothing more than a dirt wall. And I think as far as nighttime mobs are concerned, anyone caught outside is probably gonna die anyways (hardcore darkness and blindingly fast zombie hoardes).

I would do mo creatures except: apparently won't let me make it public. Adds TOO MANY mobs, and I think mo creatures tends to have conflicts with a great deal of mods.

Anyone know any mods where mobs can actually actively attack a base to get inside? I have a mod that adds mobs to do that but they won't spawn

I am surprised I missed the random things mod when looking for mods to add! And it has the blood on I really wanted too

I looked at Advent of Ascension, it looks like a good mod, but it looks really awfully large. If I added it to my mod pack, it would probably be everyone's main priority to go to new dimensions instead of staying for the other mods in the overworld

Lycanites has no real greifing mobs other then;
Lava Lobbers: They throw projectiles that spawn blocks of uncollectable flowing lava. Could potentially burn down wooden structures.
Lost souls: They are essentially floating creepers, set them to spawn in the overworld and they could be very problematic. Blast radius is a little smaller then a creeper though.
Troll: They are rare and only spawn in specific biomes but when aggroed they break a decent radius of block in their way to get to you. I have not yet encountered one in my latest pack though, their destructive ways may have been changed.

Then again looking at your other mods you want I think Lycanites might dominate the spawning of harder mobs, making things easier unless you do some heavy tweaking of Lycanites vast and numerous configs.
Also I am not sure if Lycanites is compatible with the likes of Mob AI.

Im not sure there are many mob modsh out there that go out of their way to make block griefing mobs.

That being said Lycanites has certainly made my game tougher.

oh yeah, I saw that mod and i would've got it if it weren't so OP

And I messed with configs so the apocalypse mobs like breechers (blow up on walls) and ghosts (fly through walls) spawn more often

*edit* I like Lycanites mobs, but I don't want more mobs that just get blocked by walls, even if 1 or 2 might blow up a wall on chance

Do you know how (if I can) change a zombie's sight/smell range? I think if I make their sight really far, you will have a sort of zombie apocalypse, where they are slowly coming at you from all directions

There was a mod called zombie awareness iirc that extended Their sense range. MAde zombies trample crops and break lights.

Unfortunately something about that mod is largely incompatible with my modpack, I've been forced not to use it or I can't start it up

This is apparently the mod in AgSkies2 that lets the mobs kill your light sources and stuff. Seems like a good replacement for Zombie Awareness. ;)
