I have a server with a group of 5 or 6 regular players and we've all been wanting to mess around with beekeeping and maybe breeding. The only experience I have with bees is Pam's Harvestcraft, but that was on a non-FTB server last year and it seemed limited compared to other bee mods out there.

I'm currently running a Magic World 2 server with all default mods and configs except for GraveStones mod. I was looking into adding Forestry to my world, but it seems like power sources are necessary from some of the tech mods which are not part of MW2.

Can anyone recommend what mod(s) I should install in order to introduce beekeeping to our world while still keeping the overall magical theme (little/no tech)? Are there power sources in Magic World 2 compatible with bees?

Thank you.

*sees OP asking for Bee-Related Stuff*
*Sees OP saying that OP has only used Pam's HC for Bees in the past*
So... You want to learn about Bees, huh? Boy, are YOU in for a treat. Forestry is the ONLY game in town when it comes to Bees, mate.
Anyway, here's your obligatory "Junior Apiarist" Wicker Man Scene, may you never lose it, as if you do, this happens to you, ham acting and all.

While some of the forestry stuff does need some form of power, such thing's are not really needed. You can do everything related to bees using the normal bee housing and the normal apiary's, you don't need to ever even touch the big huge alveary's that have the powered fans or heaters, or even go into the extra bees DNA stuff. I have forestry, and extra bees, plus magic bees, and rarly do I delv into the dna side of things, or clutter up the world with huge 3x3x3 box's for a single bee.

I'd say go ahead and add them in, it's a huge challenge, but once you get the hang of breed bee A to bee B to get bee B's traits into bee A... like making a wintery bee gain the 'normal temp' trait from a forest by crossing them, or remove the tropical bees poison effect welp... you're set...

hint

all that can be done in bee HOUSES.... the very thing you tend to start with!
