One thing I have admired in the launcher is the ability to close your minecraft instance, return to the launcher "hub", and move straight into another pack. I have a vanilla 1.4.7 pack, all the official modded packs, 6-8 custom packs, all accessible from that one hub. However, if I want to move between minecraft snapshots, it's still a pain to load up my default minecraft launcher with snapshot 13w06c, only to switch the next week to w07, then w08, then w09... so on and so forth.
As such, I think it would be nice to see a pure vanilla option added to the pack list, with the dropdown version menu being able to select snapshots, or versions of minecraft. All the required infrastructure has been implemented, it's simply a matter of choosing which minecraft.jar to download, similar to changing modpack versions.
