First off: I'm aware that offline mode is pretty much the easiest way to play a pirated copy of minecraft and I don't mind you guys wanting to throw a few stones in the pirates' way. I'm not asking for a way to start the game in offline mode while you're actually connected to the internet (I have no idea why that option is even there in the vanilla launcher)

With that out of the way: I'd like you to remove the error popups when launching the game with no internet connection and ideally I'd like an "always yes" check box on the "do you want to play offline instead" dialogue.
Basically, I'd like to be able to hit the launch button and just have the launcher either automatically log me in if I'm online or launch in offline mode if I'm not.

I don't think this change would make pirating any easier or harder, it's just a quality of life thing for those of us with a bad connection (or those who like to play minecraft on the train like me :))

Well yes, but that doesn't mean an alternate launcher shouldn't be more convenient.
And as I said, I don't want a straight up "launch in offline mode" button. I don't know any legitimate reason anyone would want to use offline mode while they're connected.

I've had plenty of times when the network connection just failed once, and worked the next time I logged in. I'd much rather it tell me and give me the option to cancel the startup than run it in offline mode. I'd have to wait for it to start before I could close it again and retry logging in.
And seriously, it's one button. It's not that hard to just click it.

Wait, one? If that's true, this might actually be an issue with my installation. In that case disregard this, I'll have to try reinstalling or filing a bug report.

Just to verify, if I try to launch an instance while offline I get this:
ftboffline1.png

After hitting OK on that I get this:
ftboffline2.png

Followed by the actual dialogue box:
ftboffline3.png

Now I'm asking to have those first two error messages hidden (maybe moved to the console) That's actually my main issue.
In addition, it'd be convenient to have an "always yes" checkbox on the third dialogue that someone in my situation (being usually aware that I'm offline) would activate and someone in your situation would leave unchecked. That still leaves you an opportunity to not start in offline mode if you want.

Well, there's no particular reason for the devs not to add it, so this is really just up to them now. I've never actually got a failed login in FTB, I just assumed it was the same as vanilla. That does seen like an excessive amount of boxes. They might be for debug purposes though.
