Somewhere on the internet
As some of you may or may not know, MFR has a type of fuel called sugar coal; it's simply made by smelting sugarcane. Does anyone know if this is more efficient than biofuel/biomass/ethanol? Or any creative ways to use it? :p

It is enough for 2 smelts (1/4th of coal), one sugar cane is 1/4 th of smelt (1/16th of coal). It isn't more efficient than biomass (maybe in boiler).

I did not know that.

That's interesting, if nothing else. I like it. More renewable fuels for the win!

What's the point of using these as opposed to charcoal? I understand that these are faster to obtain, but it requires more to smelt things as compared to charcoal. Charcoal is better for leaving a furnace running, and it takes longer to obtain. Sugar Coal is for if you need to smelt things quickly and youre just starting out.

I think this is not meant to actually replace anything, just give more ways to have a bit of energy.

I will seriously note this one, because of all the times where I waste coal on cooking 2-4 items and not having planks to spare.
